One Night/Two Stories Workshop and Visual Arts Night Engage Students and Families

BBB4E hosted a free family book making workshop March 12. Guests were invited to share dinner with their families while they disconnected from technology. The two stories, handwritten and drawn by families of various backgrounds, were then stitched into a single book by BBB4E Board President, Michelle Golden. Michelle has a background in fine paper work through her award and presentation studio, The Golden Studio.

Mothers and daughters, siblings, relatives of any combination of are invited to participate with no limitations on age or ability. This evening emphasizes the importance of storytelling and community. BBB4E looks forward expanding the availability of the One Night/Two Stories workshops.

As a small way to nurture the visual arts Midwest Youth Choir level 2 students were also invited to two drawing workshop before their usual weekly choir rehearsal. The drawing hours, led by local visual artist Dawn Diamantopoulos, were an opportunity for social time outside of the more rigorous choir time, as well as time to learn new skills.

Specifically in the second class the students practiced drawing a still life learning about shape, perspective and some tips for realistically rendering the world through careful observation.
