FAQs

  • Yes. We welcome students from anywhere to participate in any of our programs.

  • No. Tuition for classes are not due until the specified date depending on the class enrolled. Families may pay throughout the period of enrollment. Staff is available to work with you to help create a personalized payment plan if necessary.

  • Our Board of Directors goes through scholarship applications and any necessary paperwork. Every scholarship that we offer has a deadline. Applications received after their deadline are not considered. Once the class/program concludes, you will be required to apply for a scholarship for any future programs.

  • The easiest way to pay tuition is to login to your Parent Portal and make direct payments. Cash and checks are accepted at the first class of the month in-person or by appointment in our office. We strongly encourage families to not mail in tuition payments.

  • Payments are accepted throughout the enrollment period of classes. For music programs, a minimum of $20 is due each month. If you would like a personalized payment for your family, please let staff know. We will work with you to figure out what will work best for you on your family.

  • All our programs have early enrollment and sibling discounts. Families may also refer another family to any program. You can receive $25.00 off your tuition for every family you refer to us that has at least one student enroll in a music program. Other program discounts may vary.

  • We do not currently offer piano or guitar lessons.

  • Yes! In our instrumental music programs, children enrolled in the beginning level of classes have little to no experience on an instrument and cannot read music. Students enrolled in the Midwest Youth Choir will learn how to read music.

  • Visual art and writing workshops are offered throughout the year. Check BBB4E.org/events for the current offerings.

  • We are currently accepting new or gently used traditional band and orchestra students as a part of our Play It Forward campaign. Instruments can be donated by appointment only. Your instrument will be assessed to see if we can accept the instrument. Some instruments cost too much to repair to accept. Please contact us for more information 219.932.3232.

  • Each child is different when it comes to learning an instrument. Some students even switch from one instrument to another during the school year. At the end of the academic year, your child will be able to read music and play their instrument with a few songs.

  • Students should be practicing at least one hour a day.

  • We try and offer different opportunities for all our students including watching performances, educational art experiences, or even performances. Each year our field trips change. Currently due to COVID-19, there are no field trips or performances outside of BBB4E.

  • Yes! Students come from all over Northwest Indiana and the Chicagoland area in public, private, parochial, or homeschooled.
