Within our own programs, participants work together to create an entire body of visual and literary work or perform a musical concert. Yet, the goal is always to exhibit our process and detail the entire experience so that the community becomes not only more informed but richer in mind and heart through our shared experience.

Kenwood
& Morton Elementary School Bands
A Partnership with School City of Hammond
We operate elementary band programs at Kenwood and Morton Elementary Schools. Students meet with a professional and degreed band teacher twice weekly for group instruction. The band instructors are from the Merit School of Music. Children are learning to read music, developing a unified sound and look forward to their culminating concerts at local Hammond venues.
Parents or legal guardians of participating children MUST complete a Permission Slip, Release and Waiver, and also a Power of Attorney for EACH participating child for whom the parent or legal guardian has custody. No child may participate in this program until both documents are completed and turned in to our President, Michelle Golden.

Music
in Motion
A Partnership with Northwest Family
Services for ages 3-5
Weekly preschool music sessions concentrate singing traditional children’s songs to the accompaniment of a piano that we own which is stored on site; local musician directs children ages 3-5 years of age by incorporating small percussion instruments into program; focus on working together as a group, making props and concentrating on diction of lyrics so that there is an emphasis on language; guest musicians occasionally bring other instruments for "show and tell"; concerts held seasonally; performances are open to the public.
