County Seats
Project - Summer 2006
| The County Seats Project is a fun, accessible, interactive Sculpture Exhibit occurring outdoors throughout cities and towns located in Lake, Porter and LaPorte Counties this summer.
Books, Brushes & Bands is able to participate in the project
through the generosity of an anonymous donor who graciously
donated the seat and the funds to commission local artist Abbie
Cashman to paint the seat on behalf of bbb4e. |

|
 |
Abbie
Cashman took a few moments away from her painting to answer
questions of the bbb4e choir students. Ms. Cashman is
painting the seat at the Towle
Theater in downtown Hammond. The seat incorporates
images of the musical, visual, and literary arts. To
learn more about County Seats, CLICK HERE.
Be sure to check out
our seat in Lake County, Indiana, this summer. Once we know
exactly where it will be located, we will post that information
here on this website. |

The
Lion King - June 22, 2005, Chicago, Illinois:

All
the students who have completed our programs for the 2004-2005 year
had the opportunity to attend a field trip to experience a performance of
the LION KING. This Chicago outing was made possible by a
special grant through the George Uzelac & Associates, Inc. Fund of the
Legacy Foundation. The children enjoyed a matinee performance of
this outstanding musical. Upon returning to Hammond, Books, Brushes
& Bands threw a pizza party for the participants. Each of the
children wrote a thank you note to Mr. Uzelac for his generous sponsorship
of this outing.
