Why I serve on the board of directors for Books, Brushes & Bands for education, and why the arts should be an integral part of every child's life.

I serve on the Board of Directors of Books, Brushes & Bands for Education because I believe that the arts provide enrichment for children that cannot be found anywhere else.

Whether a child experiences the arts through vocal, instrumental, written word, paint brush or pen and ink, it provides the opportunity for self-expression and personal growth.

This learning experience further develops social skills, perseverance, time management, self-discipline, and teamwork ethics. These necessary tools are transferred over into our everyday life in the workplace as well as family and community relationships. They are a means, not only for survival, but of building and sustaining a quality of life that is gratifying and productive.
